TVs and media players running Android TV

Setting up IPTV on Android TV and Google TV

Set up OMNI IPTV on Android TV or Google TV: install a supported app from Google Play, log in and use EPG and catch-up.

Many TVs (for example from Sony, Philips and TCL) and standalone media players run Android TV or Google TV. You install apps from Google Play, which makes IPTV setup straightforward.

What you need

  • A TV or media player with Android TV or Google TV
  • A Google account
  • A stable internet connection
  • Your OMNI IPTV activation details

Step 1: Install the app

Open Google Play on your TV and search for the supported IPTV app we recommend when activating your subscription. Install and open it.

Step 2: Enter your details

Choose to log in or add a playlist and enter your details. A wireless keyboard, or the keyboard feature in the Google TV app on your phone, makes typing long details much easier.

Step 3: Watch in HD, Full HD or 4K

Android TV devices often support 4K. Check your output resolution under Settings > Display. 4K content requires a fast and stable connection.

Step 4: EPG and catch-up

Open the TV guide in the app to see the schedule per channel. On channels with catch-up you can watch programmes that have already aired.

Not working straight away?

  • Check that you entered the details exactly as you received them. Watch out for capital letters, spaces and the full server URL.
  • Restart your device and your router and try again.
  • Channels but no TV guide? Let the app reload the EPG or refresh the playlist in the settings.
  • Picture stuttering? Check your connection first: a wired connection or a stronger Wi-Fi signal usually helps.

Still stuck? Send us a WhatsApp message with your device, the app you use and a photo of the message on screen, and we’ll help you out.
